Barron Trump, 20, the youngest son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, is now a junior at NYU’s satellite campus, according to reporting published Oct. 1, 2026.
His look has shifted from tailored suits to a casual campus style, and he has also moved campuses and launched a drinks brand.
From Suits to Campus Casual
Photographs from 2025 showed then-19-year-old Barron leaving New York University in a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt, beige chinos, a brown leather belt and a black backpack, with Secret Service personnel accompanying him during that outing.
His hair in those photos was longer and tousled, strands falling naturally across his forehead, seemingly without any styling product, instead of the slicked-back style long associated with him. The outfit marked a clear shift from the sharp suits and longline wool coats he often wore at high-profile family appearances, and there is no indication he has publicly described the change as a deliberate reinvention. In his freshman year he swapped a tailored look for something much closer to a standard campus uniform.
The White House hosted the UFC Freedom 250 event in June 2026, and Barron’s hairstyle drew notice again there. A seat just behind his parents was where he watched the Sunday, June 14, event on the South Lawn, and the outing was his first in public since his father’s State of the Union address in February.
He wore a navy blazer and a white collared shirt with no tie, with longer wavy hair and “a bit of stubble,” according to reporting published Oct. 2. Reports said the wavy look replaced the shorter style he wore as a teenager.
Commenters online seized on his darker hair and more mature features within moments. A resemblance to his mother was growing, some of them said. Others thought he looked more subdued and less polished than usual. One viewer described him as “older, darker hair, slightly heavier, tired,” the Express reported.
Barron last appeared in public at the FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19, joining Donald and Melania Trump at MetLife Stadium in a black suit jacket, white collared shirt and red tie. Public sightings of the 6ft 9 student remain rare.
Finance Studies and a Drinks Brand
NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in Manhattan took Barron in fall 2024 as a first-time enrollee, and he reportedly commuted to classes from Trump Tower. The Washington campus then received him as a transfer for the fall 2025 semester. An Oct. 1 report said “he studied finance after moving from NYU’s New York campus to its Washington, D.C., location,” and a Sept. 29 report said he is “studying finances at the New York University Stern School of Business.”
Barron launched SOLLOS in June 2026. Friends from Florida joined him in starting the drinks brand, which draws on the inspiration of the Sunshine State as its model. Reporting as of Oct. 4 identified it as SOLLOS Yerba Mate, a premium soft drink. The company rolled out its first product in 2026, and Barron is listed as a founding partner and director who has stayed behind the scenes rather than serving as the brand’s public face.
Published estimates have placed his personal fortune at around $150 million, and his involvement in the family’s crypto ventures is cited as a factor. Valuations at August 2026 prices put locked cryptocurrency tokens tied to him at about $121 million, though they cannot yet be traded.
A Family With Full Schedules
Reports have said Barron met a woman on the NYU campus and has been dating her for more than a year. Coverage on Sept. 27 said he is keeping the relationship largely private, and the romance’s current state is unclear, particularly after his campus switch.
Donald Trump told the PBD Podcast in 2024 that he was not sure his son was at the dating stage yet. In a March 2025 interview with Laura Ingraham, the president said of his son’s skills: “He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
Kai Trump, 19, said of Barron on the Impaulsive podcast hosted by Logan Paul in January: “He doesn’t like the public eye so much, which I understand. But he’s a great guy.” The New York Post described Barron as “pretty reclusive” in August, partly because of constant threats on his life.
